This page sets out what we are actually doing to reduce this impact, where we stand today, and what we still have to do.

A first alternative: the compostable ESD tray

Care-Stat compostable ESD tray by Eurostat

Care-Stat is an ESD tray thermoformed from a bio-based, compostable thermoplastic. To our knowledge, it is the first ESD tray of its kind, and we are currently the only manufacturer producing it.

  • Bio-based material, made from renewable resources rather than oil.
  • Compostable under industrial conditions: biodegradation tested to ISO 14855-1.
  • Made by thermoforming, like our standard process trays.

It is a first step, not a universal solution. Industrial composting requires a suitable collection system, and this material cannot yet replace our entire range.

More recycled material in our production

Recycling does not eliminate the impact of plastic, but it reduces the amount of virgin material we use. Our two main materials, the polystyrene (PS) in our trays and the polyethylene (PE) in our antistatic films, already contain a significant share of recycled material.

Antistatic PE film

An in-house recycling loop for PS

We control the entire production chain for our trays, from raw material to finished product.

External assessments

These labels and ratings do not make us a model company. They provide an independent measure of our progress, and let you check what we claim.

MORE 2025 label

MORE 2025

European label that tracks the use of recycled plastic in plastics processors’ production.

For you: our recycled content rates are declared within a framework recognised by the industry.

EcoVadis Committed

EcoVadis

Independent assessment of CSR performance across four themes: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

For you: if you assess your suppliers with EcoVadis, our assessment can be shared with you via the platform.

CDP Climate C score

CDP Climate: C score

International environmental disclosure system, with scores from A to D. Our C score is an average score: we measure our climate impacts, but we still have significant room for improvement.

For you: our climate data is disclosed within a standardised framework, useful for calculating your indirect emissions (Scope 3).
